A Viola Bow by Francois Peccatte, 1845

François Peccatte (1822–1855) was one of the most important French bow makers of the 19th century. The younger brother of Dominique Peccatte, he became renowned for bows distinguished by strength, elegance, and exceptional musical qualities. Despite his short life, his work remains among the rarest examples of the French bow-making tradition.
