François Hippolyte Caussin (1828–1898) was a respected French violin maker who continued the renowned family workshop in Neufchâteau. Trained by his father, François Caussin, and Jules Gaillard, he became known for finely crafted instruments inspired by the great Italian masters, admired for their rich tonal qualities and distinctive character.
