A Viola Bow by Poirson Justin, 1885

Dominique “Justin” Poirson (1851–1925) was a distinguished French bow maker, active in Paris. A pupil of Nicolas Maire, he worked for J.B. Vuillaume and Gand & Bernardel before establishing his own workshop. His finest bows, influenced by the Voirin tradition, are admired for their elegance, balance, and refined playing qualities.
